Toy Chest Tuesday! Erica Kane!

Toy Chest Tuesday is all new! Sort of! Yay!

Since my soaps have returned from the grave faster than Jean Grey, I thought this week would be a great opportunity to look back at one of my favorite Barbie dolls ever made. I have shown her before, but I am actually going to do something wild and crazy. I'm opening her up. (Cue the soapy melodramatic background music.)

Adora's Search for Honor Part 3! Chapter 59!

She-Ra Saturday was totally delayed! A great deal of things happened this weekend that interfered with getting this chapter together. First off, I went to see Book of Love in concert with my brother, mom, and my brother's friend. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun. But it made me realize that I am old and cannot hang with the young folks. I wore these crazy high heels and danced the whole night. I've since been paying for it because my hips hurt so bad! Oh goodness, what a mess. Anyways, Adora's Search for Honor is all new, and this chapter is full of reunions and revelations! Enjoy.

We Only Have One Place to Sleep

I have to hand it to the amazing people who are part of the League of Extraordinary Bloggers, there are always topics to be had. This week's topic was innocent enough: You have the opportunity to spend the night at any residence in pop culture. Where do you go?

April 2013 Bodacious Baddie!

Interviewing plastic people is hard work. I've addressed this issue before, but when you have to deal not only with interviewing plastic folks, but also having a boss that is a pretty iconic piece of plastic, well it just gets so darn tricky. Take this month's interview for the Bodacious Baddie...

Adora's Search for Honor Part 3! Chapter 58!

She-Ra Saturday is moving along full speed ahead! One of the things that I always think about when writing these chapters is how I so wish I could have pictures or something to go along with the story. One of the things I hope can happen one day is that Mattel will release every character so that I can at least take photos of important parts of the story. That way there can be some visual element to everything. I see it all flash by in my mind and I just wish I could share those images with you all. Anyways, let's get things going because the story is just heating up!

April 2013 Woman of Wonderosity!

"Miss M. This is it. Are you ready?" How was I supposed to answer my mentor April O'Neil? What was I going to be ready for?

First Impressions of a Princess

First impressions are everything. Or at least that is what they say. "They" being the ominous and mysterious group of beings that tell all mere mortals the social cues of life. Personally I suck at first impressions. Well, most of the time. There are those rare occasions where I am not clumsy or awkward; those times where I can actually speak in a coherent sentence without bumbling anything is truly a miracle. Sometimes it takes me a second or third impression before people are like, "Hey, this chick isn't half bad."

Toy Chest Tuesday! Moore Action Collectibles!

Ok things are about to get real. Real dorky. Like beyond dorky. I can't actually believe that I am about to "go there" with this week's Toy Chest Tuesday. So, let me set the stage for you, oh faithful reader. It was 1997. I was deep in high school and very awkward. Mostly friendless, I was obsessed with pop culture. I had long bleached hair because I wanted nothing more than to look like Gwen Stefani. (With my big old glasses, I was totally looking just like her.)

Adora's Search for Honor Part 3! Chapter 57!

And the chapters just keep on rolling out. She-Ra Saturday is all new! (A little late, but still new!) The ending is slowly creeping along, but this latest chapter will hopefully not disappoint.

A Plastic Hate Infestation!

Hate is one powerful word. In fact, hate is like the Hulk of words. It can just smash into things without a care in the world. I don't usually hate things. So this week's assignment for the League was quite a change of pace for me. The topic was, what piece of pop culture did you hate as a kid? I'm a true southern lass and was brought up to never hate anything. It is times like these that I wish I was a true bad girl, you know the kind: wearin' cha-cha heels and stompin cigarettes out with a well pedicured toe while wearing skin tight pants that I may or may not be sewn into. Alas I am nothing close to being a true bad girl.

Toy Chest Tuesday! Fighting Force!

Hold onto your controllers, because this Toy Chest Tuesday is going to be long winded. Like, really long winded. As some of you may know, I love video games. I am a child of the 80's so video games have been as much a part of my life as air or McDonald's. Now here's the thing, I am not big on competition. I've never been good at it. I'm average at best for most things in this life. So my favorite kind of video games have always involved co-operative play. There is nothing better than playing a game with your friends where you are having to work together to either stay alive or solve a clue. Games like Gain Ground, Streets of Rage, any TMNT Arcade title, and of course the ultimate Zombies Ate My Neighbors were just the best, to name a few.

Adora's Search for Honor Part 3! Chapter 56!

Wow, how can this chapter top the last one? Chapter 55 was good, but this story is just going to get better. Let's get this She-Ra Saturday started, on Sunday!

Diary of a Dorkette is on Facebook!

What is the world coming to? First I joined Twitter and now I have finally gotten over whatever imaginary fears I have had and joined Facebook. (What can I say, when you have as many exes as I do, you gotta be a careful dorkette.) Anyways, I am notorious for always joining certain things a bit late. Like I'm still rocking the slide phone. I'm guessing in the next ten years I will join the ranks of tech savvy folks with an upgrade to a smart phone. Maybe. For the longest time I refused to even own a digital camera. I thought throw-away cameras were perfectly acceptable. How was I even able to survive this long?

Anyways, here is what you can expect to see with Diary on Facebook. I am hoping to add all kinds of great photos and what-not to catch people up on all the fun. There are many lovely things that you may have missed if you are just tuning into Diary of a Dorkette. So in the coming weeks I hope to have it perfect and looking fantastic.

Here is my special main photo:

I hope everyone is doing well, and if you are on Facebook, stop by and check things out! Here is the link: Diary of a Dorkette. Take care everybody!

Toy Chest Tuesday! Keypers!

Toy Chest Tuesday is back and full of all new stories and fun pictures of toys from yesteryear. This toy is really perfect for the "Chest" of Toy Chest Tuesday. Now these toys we are looking at today had the key to my dorky little heart for sure. The year was 1986 and Tonka was making more than just trucks. There was quite a girl toy renaissance in the 80's that went above and beyond just dolls. There were plenty of gimmicks to be had and pretty much most girl lines had something unique to offer. Tonka's Keypers line was full of cute colorful animals that had a key to unlock what was essentially storage components inside the toy's body. There were larger sets (the adults) that came with a key and a little pvc character called a Finder. There were also baby Keypers, they did not come with a compartment to unlock, but had more of an opening that you just slid open and it was basically a chest for all your toy treasures.

New Jem dolls, Wave 3!!!

This is not an April Fool's joke. I have pictures of the all new and all rowdy third wave of dolls from Jem and the Holograms. The outrageous line by Hasbro and Integrity Toys is finally going to release the:

Roxanne "Roxy" Pelligrini

Roxy looks amazing! One of the things I am really glad that Integrity Toys has done is feature the loud makeup that the Misfits are known for. The Holograms all look great, but they seem more subtle with their makeup. Roxy just looks loud and fun. I also love her accessories. The Misfits record and hot pink guitar is really nice! I am just flipping out, and this is just Roxy!

Mary "Stormer" Phillips

Something tells me a lot of people are going to be gaga for Stormer. She looks stunning. Her blue hair is fantastic. It is just perfect. I love her face sculpt. They even put the flower in her hair! Oh goodness I thought everything was fantastic with the first two waves, but the Misfits just look fantastic. I also really like her guitar synthesizer.

Phyllis "Pizzazz" Gabor

My favorite Jem character ever looks stunning. This is simply the best looking job they could have ever done with Pizzazz. She looks amazing (much better than my failed attempt at a Pizzazz costume this past Halloween.) The face is spot on. I love that she comes with a copy of Cool Trash with Kimber on the cover. That was such a fun episode. I keep finding myself more and more impressed with this line, Integrity Toys keeps knocking these dolls out of the park. I just wish the prices weren't so out of the park too.

So these dolls come in at a suggested retail value of $119.00 and can only be purchased from registered Integrity Toys dealer. The expected ship date is expected for May. For a list of Integrity Toys dealers, click here. And continue to check out these pictures! They just look amazing. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
