I really loved the idea of a celebration for her. And it is awkward for her because it is a life that she is not used to, and in some ways she feels undeserving of it. But I don't think she is opposed to learning more about this position as a member of the House of Randor. Contrasting that with Mermista, who truly wants nothing to do with this idea of family.

Bow's story from the original material has always been that of a member of the Great Rebellion. For my fanfic I wrote him as a character who grew up with Adora, Catra, Mermista, Frosta, and Perfuma in the Fright Zone and how they all went through the Horde Academy together. The difference though was that Bow, Frosta, Mermista, and Perfuma all left the Horde Academy because they knew it was wrong. Unlike Adora who stayed because she felt that it was her duty and by walking away she would have been betraying her word to stick with what she was always brought up to believe in. Of course, we all know that all of that was a lie.

I think that with Bow/Sea Hawk and Stefan/Damon the great things about characters like that is that they are so different and yet they do share common goals. I mean Bow and Sea Hawk both care about Adora. They just have different moral codes, but don't count Sea Hawk out! His role in the story is far from over.

With Sweet Bee and He-Man, I like to think of the story as something like, he really likes her, but she finds out that maybe he isn't as good as she thought he'd be. Like with the kissing. And so I think it will be fun to see the tables turned on He-Man just a bit.

And that was meant to be Sssqueeze with the long arms! I didn't use his name because Castaspella doesn't know him and I don't think Stinkor would know his real name. I like to think that Stinkor just thinks of them all as snake men. And don't worry, I couldn't kill Stinkor. He is too cute for me to kill in the story. Perfuma may or may not be seeing Moss Man. A lot of stuff is about to reach a boiling point. Afterwards that is when things truly get going for Part 3 and it will all lead up to what I hope will be a great ending! (Scareglow may still show up just yet!) After all, it is called Adora's search for honor so it seems appropriate that at this point she should be "honored"-even if it's not quite the kind of honor she is searching for.
I like the Damon/Stephen sort of dynamic with Hawk and Bow. Although, unlike Stephen, Bow doesn't seem to have any kind of dark side. I guess he did kiss Mermista, but I wouldn't say that really was a "dark" thing. I don't remember his back story though, did he used to work with the Horde like Adora did?
I feel bad for Sea Hawk. I hope he finds a way to redeem himself, even if he doesn't get the girl. He reminds me of me, because he always wants to get the girl but he always ends up drunk talking to a mouse. (or at least when I'm at my moms house there ends up being mice, though usually I have to shoe them outside before my cats get to them)
Speaking of not getting the girl, does this mean He-Man is a bad kisser? Or that he just doesn't click with Sweet Bee?
I am curious to see how that turns out.
Also, it is a bit ironic that the Horde is still called "the Horde" now that it's a small group of guys. (cuz horde would imply a large group) but when you think about it, the original Horde toy line up only consisted of like four guys also.
Now that Perfuma has been captured by the bad guys I was hoping to see Moss Man rescue her, but it looks like there will be a whole other commotion going on. I don't know how they will even have time to pay attention to holding her prisoner with the snake men out. And was that first one supposed to be Sqquuuueze with the long arms? I don't think I would have been able to keep reading if you killed stinkor -I would have been too depressed! thank god he lived so he can one day have a plush toy made of him.
Great number 50 over all! Here's to another 50 chapters!
(I am sure the next 50 chapters will focus mostly on Scare Glow. Scare Glows search for HORROR! haha-only kidding.)
Nick Moosenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132358890134520474.post-52999332715061217082013-02-26T18:15:19.385-06:002013-02-26T18:15:19.385-06:00Thanks for the heads up! Melting Cowboy is selling out and is starring in an ad for "Uncle Funtgomery's Fun Time Fruit Pies" -There is a "closer look" at Lefty-the Brawling Hand of Frankenspy, and a new feature I dubbed "Got it covered"-meaning, I posted the cover because that is all I have done of the issue! This one is Prime Eve #1-and I really like how it came out! So stop by at some point if you get a chance-I hope by the power of Grayskull I can read ASFH #50 tomorrow!Nick Moosenoreply@blogger.com
