November 2013 Heroic Hottie!

Dear Diary,

Thanksgiving is but a few days away, which means November is nearly over and the nightmare that is December will be feasting upon our flesh like a bad teen vampire flick. It's all good though. I have a Ninja Turtle boyfriend. I won't be alone ever again. Now I just need to make sure I've got my dessert dish ready that I am bringing to the sewer lair for Thanksgiving. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Turtles are going to end up ordering pizza and April will just have an endless supply of wine. Maybe Splinter and I will be able to watch some soaps. Nothing beats Thanksgiving family drama on daytime TV. Oh well Diary, I have to leave. The dessert is not going to buy itself.

Being Thankful

It has been awhile since I posted a topic from the League of Extraordinary Bloggers, and I just about missed this most recent topic. I'm cutting it close to the line, but it's better late than never so let's discuss the topic,

Gee, Thanks!
Next week, we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for this year?

November 2013 Bodacious Baddie!

Dear Diary,

These interviews just fly by, don't they? I can't believe it is that time again. It feels like it was yesterday that I was interviewing the Riddler and plotting with him to get Franken Berry and Elsa hitched so they'd experience nothing but boring bliss. On a side note, Franken Berry and Strawberry Shortcake are actually dating! It just seems so odd to me, why didn't I introduce them sooner? I'm really hoping they bake some yummy strawberry desserts for Thanksgiving. But enough of that, I need to find out who I am interviewing this month.

Toy Chest Tuesday! Pound Puppies Part 2!

Toy Chest Tuesday is here, barking up another dorky tree! Click below to read more.

Dear Diary,

"I'm so behind."

That is my statement for 2013. Or maybe my statement for 2013 should be, "My life keeps falling apart week by week, but damn it, I'm doin what I do, and what I do is cute." What do I know? I know that I want to scream at the top of my lungs. I can't share why that is on here, I just can't, but I really need She-Ra. Or the power of Grayskull. Or something. Maybe a margarita? I don't drink so that is pointless. Damn it.

So last Friday I submitted my short-short story for the writing contest. I had my brother and mom help me spruce it up, I needed an extra pair of eyes. I think my finished product was fun. It was a little thing I wrote years ago, but I updated it and now I hope it at least makes somewhat of a decent rank. I am not sure if I can post what I sent in yet or not as per the rules, but once I know anything I will post it on here for you all to read. (For those interested.)

Let's see. What else? I've got so much going on right now. I have so many stories and things that I am writing that I just want to share it with you all. I want to just give it all away, but I can't. No one will want to continue reading, right?

I've been enjoying my time with writing official content for Retro-Daze.org. I love the forum that is a part of the site. It is fun and everyone seems to be very nice. You should all go visit it! Hopefully I can also get a special review up on Broadway Jem for NERDSociety. That exclusive doll looks amazing.

I also was contacted by someone that I sold a short story to over the summer, and they are going to be contacting me for more work! (If I understood the email correctly.) I have so many coals in the fire that I hope I'll be staying warm this winter. But then I remember I live in an area that maybe has half a day of winter a year, so I'll be fine. If anything, I'll smell and look good from all the cosmetics and fragrances I keep selling. (On a total side note, I have really perfected making up my face. I don't usually wear a lot of make up, but working in a department store I have to look like I know what I'm selling, so I've got Bette Davis eyes all day long!)

I also have my fingers crossed for another project I am hoping to join in on. This publishing company is trying to put together a collection of humorous stories regarding how each state in the U.S. would handle an apocalypse. My goodness I feel like that is pure fun! In the words of Marina and the Diamonds, "I'm obsessed with the mess that is America."

Anyways, I just wanted to check in and see how you are all doing. I've got some fun stuff I will be posting this week, it won't be all my personal ramblings. Hope you are all doing well and having a great week! Take care everybody.

November 2013 Woman of Wonderosity!

Dear Diary,

Halloween has come and gone. My dog was murdered. Janine Melnitz was involved in some freak accident in the parking lot at April O'Neil's Halloween Party. Life has been pretty strange to say the least. I've been an emotional mess, but the interviews must go on! I wonder what April is up to? There was one good thing to come out of Halloween, April and Casey Jones did end up getting married. So there is always that.

Been a Bit Busy

Hey everyone.

I know it has been about a minute since I posted anything new, but I just wanted to do a little check in. I have been pretty busy. I've been getting together some new content for posts for Diary while also getting something together with NERDSociety (though I am a bit behind on that.)

I've also been writing some stuff for Retro-Daze, if you haven't yet, go check them out here and here. I've been having a really great time with that site too.

So here's the thing. I've also been working on something to enter into a short short story competition. I've never entered a writing competition in my life. I've always been very nervous to do something like that as I feel like I am not really that talented to enter something into an official contest. Shit gets real when it is in an official contest, ya know?

I decided though that it doesn't matter if I rank in the top 12 or not, what matters is that I pour my heart into a short short story and swallow my fears and just submit it. Who cares? Right? So I've been working on something that I hope to send in before the deadline. We shall see!

There have also been other things that have kept me busy. I went to see my friend compete in a Pole Competition yesterday. I've talked before about my friend Patrick and the work he has put in to Pole Performance. He made third place in his division and the performance he gave was pure perfection. Once a video is up I will be sharing it with you all. It is the perfect thing for all you nostalgic lovers. I'm also just beyond proud of him because this was his first solo performance in a competition! We were all screaming for him. I had a grand old time. Later on that night, I also got to experience something with my family that is just pure excitement.

As I've mentioned before my family has always been a movie family. They take their movies seriously and it was only a matter of time before someone tried to make it work in the movie business. My brother was fortunate enough to work on the film the Dallas Buyers Club and he even ended up having a cameo role in the movie! It was a non-speaking part, but it was enough for us to want to rush out and see it as a family. (My parents rarely go see a movie together, and with the four of us seeing something together, that is even more of a rarity.)

So late last night we went to the late showing of the Dallas Buyers Club and we were all nervous, especially my brother, he wasn't sure what he was going to look like or what. But then all of a sudden there he was, on the big screen! And it was just magic. We were concerned that my mom would start screaming in the movie theater because sometimes she just can't help it, but luckily for the other patrons she simply let out a loud gasp and grabbed the both of us. I'm so proud of him. He is making his dreams come true. Also, if anyone is interested, the Dallas Buyers Club is a really good movie. It's sad, really sad, but there are moments of humor and a great deal of beauty.

That's sort of what I've been up to lately. I have some fun things in store this week though, so get ready! Toy Miss M will be partaking in her toy interviews and may or may not end up crossing paths with her arch enemy Velvet Sky! You won't want to miss it! Take care everyone.
