Dorky Snaps! Blue Edition!

The topic this week from the League of Extraordinary Bloggers is all about the blues. But don't get down in the dumps! This week the topic is a fun photo session all about the color blue. So let's click the link below and enjoy in Grumpy Bear's fur color of choice.

I haven't done a Dorky Snaps in awhile, so this special Blue Edition for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers should more than make up for that.

Can you guess which blue hair belongs to whom? (answers at the end)

"I'll protect the world!"

"I just love a good blue boa, but not as much as I love my green frog."

I've always loved my better half.

She can crush her enemies as if they were ice...

"Da Ba Dee Da Ba Die"

Evil loves to lurk at night and under good lighting.

There is no blue without yellow and without orange. -Van Gogh (Totally true)

And now for the blue hair answer:
Blue hair teaser revealed: (top) Robecca Steam, Icy, Ghoulia Yelps,
(bottom) Mermista, Snugglebumm, DJ Pon3, & Frosta

So that's it for my photos! Things aren't over yet though, be sure to check out the other photos from these members of the League. This was a fun topic and I encourage you all to check out the links below. There are all kinds of really great photos to be viewed. Also, be sure to check out Cool and Collected as the list will more than likely grow even longer. Take care everyone!

  1. I love your blog because you represent the chick toys. Word!
That song absolutely was in my head the whole time I was creating my post for "Blue"!

    1. Hey Laura! Thank you! I do love to represent the pink aisle. I mean it is just what I know more of. lol And yeah, the "Blue" song was in my head too! I was like, "I've got to find a way to work this in somehow."

Snugglebumms were so cute. They were light up toys by Playskool in the mid 80s. They were a family. The one in the picture was Papa Brightly, and they had a Mama Brightly and I think like a sister and brother too. There were all kinds of interesting side creature characters also. It was a very cute line, but it didn't last long.

And I love that Mermista and Frosta bring you back to feeling synthetic hair between your fingers! lol There is nothing quite like that feel! Talk to ya soon!

    1. Thank you! Ya know, it started out as me wanting a photo of everyone in the center with their blue hair, but it just didn't work so then I decided to just make it a fun game. lol I hope you are feeling better.

    1. I know! That damn song! I was tempted to actually play the cd again, but I was like, "No. I played it enough back then, I think I'm good." lol Thanks for the comment, I hope you are doing well.

  5. Hey Michael! (sorry I couldn't resist! But I promise not to call you that in the future-but seriously isn't really weird dating Michelangelo the Turtle? You guys will both turn your heads when someone says "Hey Mikey!")
Funny thing about "the Blue song" -in 1999, my friends and I were seniors in high school, and those of us who didn't drive or have cars still rode the bus.Of course, every morning the mainstream radio station would be on the bus radio, and we worked out a formula-anytime they played "the blue song" it would be a bad day, and every time they played "Steal My Sunshine" by -this weird one hit wonder pop band called "Len"-it would be a good day.(I actually bought the CD!) All these years later, my best friend, who used to ride the bus with me back in the day, went with me to see Iron Man 3, and the movie opens with a flashback to 1999 and the Blue Song plays!! And, even though it wasn't bad, it was my least favorite Iron Man movie. So maybe the Blue Song is a curse!

    1. Well I don't think it would get too confusing with Miss M dating Michelangelo. I've never gone by Mikey. Now I have gone by Mickie, like the WWE Diva, but never Mikey. lol Though yeah, there is a similar sound to both our names. but what can I say, I'm smitten with the party turtle.

I havn't heard that Steal My Sunshine song in ages. I can hear it now. Yeah those two songs were played a lot on the radio back then. lol I did a double take when Iron Man 3 opened too, I was like, "Are they trying to bring this song back?" lol I didn't dislike Iron Man 3, it wasn't awesome and it wasn't awful. But then again, I've never been a huge Iron Man fan.

  6. Oh wait! allow me to amend that! We were juniors in high school in 1999. We graduated in 2001. Why is that important? well come on, you gotta admit the Stanley Kubrick Space Odyssey connection is pretty cool!

  7. I had a tough time guessing blue hair, the only person I could think of was Captain Planet, but then I remember that no his skin was blue and his hair was green, and his mullet wouldn't have been that long anyway.

I did recognize DJ Pon-3, though I think her fan-given name, "Vinyl Scratch", is catchier. I just assume she uses the "DJ" title for her performances but gets all of her mail sent to "Vinyl".

    1. lol! Captain Planet's mullet on this would have been awesome. lol That damn mullet.

I like her fan name being Vinyl Scratch. It is a good name. I really like this new incarnation of MLP, though I am not as steeped in it as I was with the original. There is a nice feel to it though that reminds me of the one from long ago.

  8. Love your last photo, all of these figures are great (specially DJ Pon3 aka Vinyl Scratch).
I like the new design of Blythe from LPS, I was tempted to buy a playset just for the dollie, but they're too expensive here!

    1. Hey Yelinna! I hope all has been well. I am glad you enjoyed the last photo! I am also really loving the new design for Blythe. I just wish they'd make single releases of her. She always seems to be in a giant set, and I feel they are to expensive here, so I can't even imagine how much they must be where you are.
