Happy Valentine's Day Chocolate Lovers!

Ok so here's the deal, Valentine's Day is like one of my favorite holidays, and not for the reasons you might think. I know with all my incessant white girl charm that I should be loving this holiday for all the cheesy romance with chocolate diamonds and whatever other sappy things people are expected to do for this day. Here's the thing though, I don't love this holiday for romantic dinners for two or whip cream surprises. I love this holiday for all the pink.

Ya see, I love the color pink and the heart shape. Together they are the best things ever. And around this time of the year, you simply can't escape them. I love nothing more than looking like I'm covered head to toe in Pepto. I know that sounds wrong, but in my mind it sounds oh-so-right. The thing is this, after a certain age, wearing all pink begins to look a little sad and desperate. Unless you are Barbie... or it happens to be Valentine's Day!

Anyways, when Valentine's Day comes along all of that stuff goes out the window. I can wear pink hearts. I get to snack on those yummy Sweetarts Gummi Hearts. Seriously, those are so good. And you can't go wrong with Cherry M&M's! Oh my goodness.

My most favorite Valentine's Day though doesn't even involve candy to make my ass bigger. Once in my early twenties I had decided to just go out on my own and have a fun night. So I went out and bought a really cute outfit that was all pink with some ruffly sleeves. It sounds a lot worse than it was. I thought I looked really cute.

I took myself out to dinner and got to eat at the bar because the wait staff thought I was strange for eating alone. But the meal was really fun! I got to laugh with the bartender who even offered to make me a special drink. I declined because I wanted to be in charge of my faculties. But the dinner was a lot of fun.

Afterwards I met up with some friends for some dancing at a night club. Bonus points: it was 80's night! No one was really there either, so the dance floor was ours for the night! Oh it was such a fun night! I just love Valentine's Day! So Happy Valentine's Day everyone, and enjoy some Lego Lovin!

  2. ahh! you did do a Valentine post! Well then disregard the comment I made on the pope car hottie thing where I was surprised you didn't mention valentines day!
Anyway I am sure you are the first and only dork ever to call valentines day their favorite holiday.
When I was a writer for the Kent Stater I once dubbed it "National Crasturbation Day!" ( and yes, that does stand for "cry while you masturbate" and yes they did let me put that in the school paper!)
I have just never been a fan of holidays that remind lonely people that they are lonely -(so yeah, I guess that's ALL Holidays!) but, it is, if nothing else, a magnificent excuse to drink! -and I too love the color pink so there is that- although today I wore my Joan Jett and the Blackhearts shirt-so that had a black heart instead of a pink one.
Anyway cheers! Crasturbation across the nation!

    1. Crasturbation! lol Ok I think I have heard everything now. That is funny. But yes, I am a dork and i do love Valentine's Day. I haven't always been thrilled by the holiday, but I have always enjoyed it. But I enjoy it for the things that arent what you would expect. Like I dont really care much for the whole love and romance thing, just because I think that leads to expectations, and I try not to deal with those since I was little. But Joan Jett and the Blackhearts is a very cool shirt!
