Alright everyone, I am not one to be on top of technological things. Now fashion, collecting toys and dolls, soap operas, those types of things I am quick to know what is going on with. Facebook? Never joined it and probably won't. When you have as many disastrous exes as I do, a social networking site is the last place you need to be on. Texting? I had it before most of the people in my life did back in the early 2000's, but I got rid of it, and only recently rejoined the texting world at the insistence of friends who were ready to stop talking to me. Hello, it is 2011, no one talks on the phone anymore! Ebay? I have just gotten immersed into the world of Ebay. Now I have always known how to go shopping on Ebay, my goodness shopping is something that people have been doing since the dawn of time. I know how to shop in all its mysterious and fun ways.
Selling though, that is a different game all together. Well dear readers, I have come hurtling out of the Dark Ages and I have been actually selling stuff on Ebay! It is a lot of fun! I can't believe I have been missing this! What did people do before the advent of selling all your crap on a website? Oh that's right, we had garage sales where we practically gave everything away.
Not so with Ebay! I have found that I own a lot of expensive stuff! Stuff that I don't think I really need, which is a struggle for me. I'm the kinda girl that thinks it is perfectly normal to keep (and want) everything. After all my mentor, Erica Kane, taught me exactly how to have it all! So why not?
Anyways, back to selling. One thing I have noticed with Ebay is that every seller has some boring basic listing. And half the time they are lying about what they are selling. So I am trying to change all that! I'm bringing stories to my Ebay listings! Letting people really become attached to the items they have yet to buy! I think it might be working! Take a look at this recent listing I posted,
"Alright Ebay buyers, I have something special for sale this time. A long time ago Sears had a special series of Disney Peter Pan dolls. I wanted nothing more than to own a Peter Pan and Wendy doll because I thought they would make a perfect couple to go on a double date with my Barbie and Ken. They'd all fly around, going on various adventures until they were ready to dine at an exclusive fancy restaurant! Now one day when I was little my mom bought me the Peter Pan doll, but we had to wait for the Wendy because she was sold out. (Well la-dee-da, aren't you special Miss Wendy!)
As the fates would have it I was a slightly bratty child that day and got angry at my mom for something or another, probably out of my frustration that Sears was sold out of Wendy. My punishment for being such a wicked little girl was to have my brand new Peter Pan doll taken away from me and shoved in a cabinet in the laundry room! Now for some reason time passed and I guess my mom and I both forgot about my punishment with the Peter Pan doll, because we completely left him in the back of the cabinet!
It wasn't until many many years later that as an adult I stumbled upon the Peter Pan doll, still in the box, from the back of the cabinet! So now that I am older I no longer have a use for this Peter Pan doll. My wish and hope is that someone out there will want to buy him, and maybe even reunite him with Wendy. They have both been waiting a long time to go out on a high flying adventurous date! (Though it might be minus Barbie and Ken, cause I'm keeping them!)
So up for sale is a vintage Disney Peter Pan doll from Sears. He has never been removed from his box, but due to the box being in the back of a cabinet it has gathered some bumps, dents, and slight tears. However this box is in a decently good condition. The colors are still bright and vibrant, the plastic window is very clear. The box was smart and stayed away from the sun for all these years so it has aged decently well. This item is a must have for any Disney collector! Be sure to look over the pictures though and make sure that everything looks ok, if you have any questions please feel free to ask me!"
See, don't you just want to buy something with a story like that? It is so full of drama and romance! And anti-aging secrets! I mean I bet I sell that doll in a few days! I hope. I really do!
Here is a picture of Mr. Peter Pan.
He's kinda cute right? I mean I think Wendy would have liked going on a date with him. Of course I have no clue if they were even meant to be together, but it seems like they would. I mean it certainly wasn't Tinkerbell that Peter would be falling for! Let's be real.
Anyways selling stuff on Ebay has actually been interesting. It is like a job! Taking all those pictures, finding prices, going through the annoying listing process! But I do love it. I think it is so much fun to share these stories with people about what I am selling. I don't do it with all of the items, but I try to make the buying experience as personal as possible. I'll be sure to post some more Stories of Ebay every now and then! Hope everyone is doing well! (the 2 people that are probably reading this!)

Toy Chest Tuesday! Wee Wild Things
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Toy Chest Tuesday! This should be a fun treat. Every Tuesday I will pull something out of the archives and take a look back to a certain toy or other cool artifact from the past! It's like fashionable archaeology! Today we are looking at a blast from Mattel's past.
Here are a few pictures to get started:
As you can tell the toyline we are looking at today is called Wee Wild Things. The description of this toy is "Totally Tiny... Incredibly Cool!" And cool they were! Each toy came with a wee wild thing with wild hair and some sort of vehicle or tiny playset. This wee thing was named Ritzy Mitzy. Her slogan was "I'm a star in my ultra-cool car!" Well la-dee-da Ritzy! Only in the 80's would it ever be ultra-cool to drive a loud pink car with a painted dinosaur on the door. It is almost as if Ritzy Mitzy was driving to her own special Jurassic Park, full of neon dinosaurs and parachute pants. I love her!
Let's check out the back of the toy, because this is where things get really good. The names of these wild things are something else:

Here is the full back
In this picture we see that rich bitch Ritzy Mitzy zooming around in her car, Prancy Nancy on a pony, and Ruby Doobie in a sail boat (can I just ask why the hell is her last name Doobie? What exactly is she doing on that boat?) I mean seriously!
On the top floor is Rita Bonita, a vain wee wild thing if I ever saw one. Down below is Suzie Cutie, apparently Suzie likes her pants to match her bedspread.
Zaney Janey wrecklessly drives around in her jeep waving at people as if the rest of the road isn't important. I'm sure she'd be texting while driving if this was a current toy. I mean seriously, don't wave at the other wee wild things Janey! Those other girls aren't even paying attention! Standing next to her ultra-cool scooter is Kicky Nicky, her pose just says, "You best come prepared." And sitting at the booth ready to jump into a caloric buffet of neon triangles and matte squiggly lines is Rhoda Soda.
What were we thinking as kids? This is why I love my childhood. Because you just don't find cheesy fun toys like this anymore. I mean Ruby Doobie, really? Someone actually thought that would be a great name for a toy? I just can't get over it. Kicky Nicky was my first Wee Wild Thing. I still have her, though her scooter seems to have gotten away from her. Who knows where it is now. Maybe Zaney Janey took off with it? When the word Zaney precedes your name, let's be real, you might be a lil crazy.
And I'm crazy for loving this toyline and trying to collect vintage sets on Ebay. There is just something fun about a tiny wee thing with a shock of bright hair and fun shapes painted on everything. So here is one last photo of Mitzy Ritzy and her ultra-cool car. I only hope she never lets Ruby Doobie drive. Or leave anything behind in the car glove compartment.
What do you think? Anyone else remember these?

Why aren't you watching?! The new Thundercats! HO!
Hello dear readers! At least I hope there is someone reading. I would like to take the time to tell you all that you must tune in to the new Thundercats cartoon on Cartoon Network. I finally saw the first episode from this past Friday and I am really liking it!
Now I am not going to lie, I am not the biggest Thundercats fan out there so I don't know everything there is to know about the cats. I did watch the old cartoon when I was younger though and I had a few of the toys. Cheetara was my favorite one. I mean come on, who doesn't like Cheetara? When I was younger I would have my Cheetara toy wreck the happy home of He-Man and Teela. It was all very Knots Landing. Loved it!
Back to the new cartoon. I really liked it. The animation was really good, there was a nice flow to it. Nice colors too. The characters looked fantastic and the backgrounds were just stunning. I felt like I wanted to see more of the world. The voices for the characters was also very nice! Nothing really annoyed me at all.
This brings me to Snarf. I was never a big fan of the original. His voice irked me for some reason. I always wanted to like him. I really did. However I just couldn't. This new Snarf is actually cute and fun though. I wonder if he will somehow be able to talk later on.
The storyline is really good. I have only seen one episode. I don't want to give anything away, but I was interested in what was going on. Great action and character development. And I was actually creeped out by Mumm-Ra. I am also liking the connections that the characters have with each other. Tygra and Lion-O are brothers, by adoption. That is a pretty neat twist. Cheetara is just awesome. Plain and simple. I also like WilyKit and WilyKat. The show is different and fresh, I am glad it is not a straight redo of the original.
I have no idea where the show's direction is going to go, but I look forward to more episodes. I also hope they have a really cool opening scene. I loved the original one and the theme song. Such a fun song! I don't know what it was about 80s cartoons, but they all had such great theme songs.
I also hope this new reboot will inspire some other cartoons to get a second chance at life (or third, or fourth, depending on previous lives played.) There are a couple of cartoons I would love to see make a huge comeback. I'm looking at you She-Ra... And don't even think I have forgotten about Jem either!
What about you? Did you see the new Thundercats cartoon? What do you think?

Flashback Fridays: Too Hot to Trot
Flashback Fridays is a special day of the week. Here I will share previous misadventures that should help you laugh a little bit. And maybe even help prepare you for what not to do on the weekend. Seriously, no one wants to end up on Snake Mountain as a sacrifice to the Snake Men. This could save your life!
In my early twenties I loved going out to the clubs. Dancing and hanging out with friends was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the week. I'd throw on a cute outfit, do a lil smokey eye and be out the door. It was great. Of course I would also be in shoes that were not the best to be dancing in, but whatever. When you are in your early twenties you can wear skyscraper stilettoes like it is nothing. No one is worrying about hip replacements ok?
Now this particular night-out occured sometime in December or January. It was cold and windy, and yours truly thought it would make perfect sense to leave her nice long coat with faux fur trim in the car. After all I just had to show off the outfit I had planned on wearing all week long. Oh and can I just say this was an amazing outfit. I had on this shiny purple one shoulder top with this flowy knee length black skirt. The shoes were delicious peep toe pumps. To top it all off I had this bright yellow belt to really make it pop.
It may sound like a lot, but I thought I looked like some glam disco goddess. I walked into the night club like I owned the joint! I said my helloes, did a little dancing. Conversed with people on the patio, accepting compliments graciously. I was having a fabulous time, until the cold air started to really get to me.
Let's face it, any smart person would be more concerned about staying warm in the winter. Not me, I wanted to flash skin in the cold. A whole lotta good being 23 years old did for me huh? I excused myself from my friends and made the walk back to my car, totally stopping to smile at the door man because I really thought he was dreamy.
Anyways the parking lot was across the street. I made my way over there and stopped dead in my tracks. The entrance to the parking lot had a closed gate in front of it. Ya know, one of those low slung iron gates with two connecting like doors with an opening below. They aren't very tall. Well I could've lifted my legs over the gate and been on my way, but I was in a skirt! I wasn't about to do that!
Being the ever smart 23 year old that I was, I made the choice to crawl under the gate. Limbo style. I held onto the center of the two gate doors and prepared to walk under. All of a sudden the gate doors swung open. I screamed and slipped on my back on the driveway. I thought the gate had been locked, but clearly that was not the case.

So there I was, lying on the cold concrete looking up at the stars. I couldn’t get up! I was embarrassed hoping no one had seen me fall. Then I was hoping that the dreamy door guy across the street had seen the whole thing and surely he was going to rush over to help me. Right?
Wrong. The only thing I got was a gust of wind that blew my skirt up over my hips exposing my panties to the heavens. I had really hoped the Greek gods were a myth, because Zeus totally got a show that night. That was when I realized I really needed to get up because a girl lying on the ground with her skirt up in front of a night club would warrant the wrong kind of attention.

I rolled over and slowly got up, dusting myself off. I looked around to still make sure that no one had been watching. They hadn't. I could have been mugged and no one would have noticed. So I got my coat out of my car and rushed back inside.
What is the point of this story? I will tell you. My biggest mistake was expecting that the dreamy door guy was going to rush over and save me! The point my dear readers is that you gotta save yourself! Pick yourself up and dust off your behind. I have always had this complex with wanting to be saved by some guy. When I was little I would tie myself to trees and hope for the boys in the neighborhood to rescue me. They would ride by on their bikes and laugh.
If you fall, or find yourself tied to a tree, figure out how to get out of it on your own! After all, it is what She-Ra would do. Of course that broad had a sword she could turn into anything she wanted for help, but whatever. I still love her!
So be here for the next Friday Flashback! It is a cautionary tale I like to call- The Suppository.
Before the fun begins...
Hello!
I have no idea what I am doing. I am a dorkette. You can call me Miss M. Writing is something that I love. It is a passion of mine. This diary that you are going to hopefully find interesting to read is going to be full of all kinds of adventurous stories. I once had a site called Iknowsomething.com where I chronicled many of the misadventures that always seemed to occur on a regular basis to me.
That site spawned a few sequels on other sites, which no longer exist anymore. (I mean seriously, does anyone still use Myspace?) But here I am. Ready to start all over again. I'm sure you might be asking yourself right now, "Why should I even care about reading what you have to say?"
Well I'm glad you might be thinking that, because there is a lot you will get out of coming here! I have many funny stories to share, both from the past and stories that occur in the present. I will also be going into the vault and pulling out all kinds of interesting artifacts and relics from a little decade I like to call the eighties. I'm sure you have heard of it. I may even delve into some other decades too. Either way there will be fun pictures and commentary on all kinds of things, and by things I mainly just mean toys.
I will also talk about other various states of pop culture, like what is on tv. Ya know, what you should be watching. I know my taste might not be the best, but it is awesome. There will also be the chance to even read my own self created fiction as well as my fan fiction on the real important things in life like She-Ra: Princess of Power and Jem and the Holograms. After all the blog title should say it all. Be prepared, it is about to get real nerdy up in here!
P.S. I am still working on the layout of this site, so bear with me if it looks too hokey!
