All My Toys is brand new!
"To Krystal!"
Breathless: Wherever you are Krystal, I sure hope it's with Cletus. (takes a sip of her drink) Here's to you bitch.
Glo: You think she's really with Cletus?
Breathless: Heaven or hell, maybe somewhere in-between, I have no doubt they are together up to something. They were two of the messiest people I knew.
Jason: She's right. Their love was something else. Able to fight like they were street fighters and then fight off anyone that tried to get in their way.
Breathless: Cletus brought her down though. She could sing, but after they got hooked on Plastic, she just wasn't the same. Poor thing. I'm glad we're doing this for her though. I don't think she had any family. Poor girl couldn't even get a proper funeral.
Glo: They said she was down in the basement where the fire originated from. You think she started it on purpose?
Jason: I don't think we'll ever know. Crazy right?
Glo: It's insane when you really think about it.
Breathless: Was never a dull moment at Club Ritz.
Jason: What are you two doing for work?
Glo: I'm trying to figure that out.
Jason: (smirks) Must be nice.
Breathless: Not really. I miss being on a stage, even if it was a shitty one. I feel like I should be doing something.
Jason: I'm sorry.
Breathless: Why?
Jason: You may have all that money, but you also lost someone you loved. I didn't mean to be a jerk.
Breathless: Yeah well, what are you gonna do? Them's the breaks. What about you Jason? Not many clubs in town to bounce is there?
Breathless: (eyes widen in playful humor) Fun stuff.
Jason: (rolls eyes) Yeah. Real fun.
Glo: We're all doing what we can though right? After the hell we went through.
Breathless: Yeah. Still no Big Boy huh? You think they'll ever find him?
Glo: Here's hoping.
Breathless: Ha. He's probably in another country by now. (pauses, looking curiously at Glo and Jason) Anyway, I'm heading out. It was nice seeing you two, let's do it again. (begins to saunter off) Maybe in a classier joint?
Jason: See ya.
Glo: What?
Jason: Big Boy. No way they'll find him.
Glo: Are you alway this way?
Jason: What way?
Glo: Yes. I'm fairly certain my friend feels the same way.
Jason: And what about us? Do we need to pay for what we did?
Glo: (eyes narrow, recalling the night she killed Influence in self-defense) Jason. What we did was different, and you know it.
Jason: Maybe so. I just sometimes wish we hadn't.
Glo: I know. I wish the same thing.
Dick Tracy: How come?
Arcee: I thought this work would involve bringing criminals to justice. We need a win Tracy.
Dick Tracy: What about the town's security cameras? Have you found anything through them like you did before?
Arcee: Don't forget this case involving the toxic waste.
Dick Tracy: How could I forget? (pauses as someone approaches) How can I help you?
Arcee: How did you know that? The yellow hat?
Elisa Maza: I was told yellow was his signature color.
Dick Tracy: It's a classic color. So, you're a transfer? I didn't realize we needed another detective.
Elisa Maza: Yeah, well, things seem to be a little out of hand around here huh?
Elisa Maza: Yeah, well, things seem to be a little out of hand around here huh?
Dick Tracy: I think Arcee and I are doing a fine job.
Elisa Maza: Yes, Arcee, part of the roll out for Toy Valley's robotic assistance program. Nice to meet you.
Arcee: Likewise.
Elisa Maza: As great as you both might be, things seem to be somewhat out of control in this town, yes?
Dick Tracy: (smirks) Care to elaborate?
Elisa Maza: I'd love to. There are reports that this station is full of corruption, present company excluded. You have a mob boss on the run. Organized crime in this town is rampant. A mystery case involving stolen toxic waste? Umm, what? There has also been talk of a murderous computer known as MAL that has recent ties to this station, which further adds to the overall corruption in this place.
Elisa Maza: Excuse me, did you just say "robot gulp?"
Arcee: Uh yeah. Umm, I meant that for dramatic effect.
Dick Tracy: You certainly know a lot about what's going on here.
Elisa Maza: Yes. I'm here to help. I know this kind of thing can turn into a pissing contest, but I assure you, I'm only interested in helping turn this place around.
Dick Tracy: How did this opportunity land at your feet?
Elisa Maza: A favor was called in. From Commissioner Gordon. He's an old friend.
Dick Tracy: Ok. When do you start?
Elisa Maza: That would be now detective.
Later on at the Here's Cheers bar...
Winston: Time sure does fly. I can't believe this is your last night.Sarah: I know. We made the most of our time though, right?
Winston: Yeah, we sure did.
Sarah: Are you going to be ok?
Winston: Nah. My life will be over as we know it. I may throw myself in the river and wash out to sea.
Sarah: I hope you will be. I'm worried about you and this business with the Boo Bucket you see.
Winston: There's nothing to worry about. So I'm being haunted by an old Halloween pail from McDonald's? Could be worse things. Slimer comes to mind. (pauses) I'm going to be ok.
Sarah: Ya know, since Billy agreed to help me with marketing for the shelters, you could always join him when he flies out for the work? It'd create more opportunities for us to see each other. Those FaceTime calls are not enough.
Winston: Yeah. I know. It's an idea for sure.
Sarah: You always do that. You do this every time I bring up the idea of you coming to see me. Why can't you just say yes instead of a vague statement?
Sarah: Right. The haunted Boo Bucket.
Winston: I have more going on. I'm trying to keep the business afloat. We lost Egon. Peter is on book tours. Ray and I aren't speaking. It's just Janine and me. People don't believe in ghosts like they used to.
Sarah: Yeah. We've got real life boogeymen. I get it. (phone buzzes)
Winston: Sure. Are we ok?
Sarah: (sighs) Of course Winston. Come on, I'm hungry.
Sarah: Excuse me?
Sarah: Yeah. I think we should get an appetizer.
Winston: I would agree. Let's hurry.
Miss M: I'm amazed you both wanted to play a board game.
Big Boy Caprice: Why not? We did that all the time when you were younger.
Cruella: Gosh Al, remember when we'd invite all the cousins over for drinks and Monopoly? Why did we ever stop that?
Big Boy Caprice: We'd usually get into a fight. Then I went to prison.
Cruella: Oh right. Sometimes I just forget the past. But, look at us right here, just a little old family again. I've missed this.
Miss M: It's still a little surreal. But nice. I will need to get ready in a bit though, I've got a date with Dick tonight.
Big Boy Caprice: (swallows his annoyance and composes himself) How nice. Well, your mother and I are going to have a nice dinner with Itch. Let me go check on it.
Miss M: He's a detective.
Cruella: I think that makes it worse.
Miss M: Well, if the both of you had not fallen into a life of crime, we wouldn't be in this strange predicament. Now would we?
Cruella: Oh must you throw that in our faces at every chance? We just had a nice time as a family.
Miss M: Mother, we may be having a nice time together. You may even be a different person because you haven't had a drink in over a week, but that doesn't erase the chaos you and dad have brought to my life.
Cruella: Darling, we're trying to make up for that though. Surely it hasn't been all that bad? Don't you have any good memories of us? You know? Any moments that stand out as happy times?
Miss M pauses.
Miss M: There's one memory I hold onto.
Cruella: Oh?
Miss M: Yeah. It was that one Christmas, goodness, I was a teen. I got that dvd of like every Madonna music video. And I was playing it, dancing while getting ready for the family get together. You walked by my room and saw me, then joined me in the dancing. It was so much fun. We were just bonding to the eternal enduring power of Madonna.
Cruella: Oh. That sounds nice.
Miss M: (pauses) You don't remember that do you?
Cruella: Not exactly.
Cruella: Oh darling don't be upset. You know how Christmas was always stressful for me, especially after your father left for a bit.
Miss M: Because he was in prison. It was more than a bit.
Cruella: Yes and that dreary stint he had in prison took a toll on all of us. So while I probably had some martinis in the morning that Christmas day, I am touched you have this memory of us.
Miss M: (sighs) Yeah. Me too.
Cruella: Now don't run off with your feelings hurt. I have my own fond memory of you. I often think about those Saturdays we'd go to the mall and look at all the clothes and imagine all the fabulous items we'd want. I always loved how you would stand next to the mannequins on display and pretend to be one. Other parents would look at you like some sort of ham, but I always saw you. You weren't standing there to be goofy, though truth be told you have a goofy side, but you just wanted a touch of glamour.
Miss M: I was also obsessed with the movie Mannequin at the time. I wanted nothing more than to be Kim Cattrall.
Cruella: I don't really remember that movie, but those memories at the mall are there. Loud and lovingly clear. See darling? I'm not that terrible.
Miss M: Mhm. Umm, I need to get ready for my date.
Cruella: Good. I hope you have fun tonight. Don't worry about your dad. Enjoy your time with your man dear.
Across town, a return to Here's Cheers, where the lights are dim and the bar is closed early for a private event.
The Tramp: (gruffly yells) Shut up all of ya hmm? The lady has something to say.
Trish Manlis: Thank you Tramp.
Trish Manlis: I appreciate you all coming here for this meeting. We are living in extraordinary times. I want to make those times even more extraordinary. With Big Boy on the run, there's an opening for who takes over this territory. And given who I was married to and what happened to my poor Lips, I think it makes sense that I usher in this new era. (groans fill the bar)
Prune Face: No offense Tramp, but what could this broad do that we couldn't do better in Big Boy's position?
The Tramp: Haha. You think you got what it takes? Or any of you? Jokes. The lot of ya.
The Brow: As interesting as this might be, we're missing people. Itchy. Influence. No one has seen either of them.
Trish Manlis: No one cares about that old perv Influence. As for Itchy, well, one of your own defected and is on the run with Big Boy. Who do you think helped Big Boy escape? Guess that crooked bastard had a favorite after all?
Flattop: Makes sense. Itchy was always a suck up. Meanwhile the rest of us had to experience Big Boy's wrath here and there. I'm glad the mighty puppeteer has fallen.
Trish Manlis: We are here for an opportunity. This was Lips' territory and it was stolen at the hands of Big Boy. As Lips' widow, it is rightfully mine. I'm not here to argue this point with any of you. I'm extending my hand as a gesture of good will. You can join me, and prosper under a new era, or turn to dust. The choice is yours. As an added incentive, whoever brings me Big Boy will get a lovely position supporting my territory.
Trish Manlis: Dead is not an option. I want him alive. I want to have one final conversation with the man that has taken the love of my life. And then I will make sure he suffers a far worse fate than my poor Lips. Now, who will join me? (the room slowly breaks out into cheers)
Nearby, Dixie's Diner.
Dick Tracy: Find any other cans of spray cheese in your car?Miss M: (gasps) No! I'll never live that down will I?
Dick Tracy: (grins) I think it's cute. You're always so goofy. It cheers me up.
Miss M: I mean I'm not always goofy. I can be glamorous too. Like that singer you were helping. The one that looks like Madonna. I can totally pull that look off.
Dick Tracy: I'm sure you can, but I don't care about that look. I care about you, just the way you are. I'm glad we're having dinner. It feels like it's been awhile.
Miss M: I know. Things have just been busy. How have you been? (pauses) Any news on finding my dad?
Dick Tracy: No news yet. But, there's a new detective from New York that is helping Arcee and me with the case. So far all she's done was create a special hotline for any tips on the case. Then there's all this stuff with the toxic waste. I guess I've been pretty busy too.
Dick Tracy: I feel the same way. (pauses) You ok? You look a little distant.
Miss M: I'm just... We're going to be ok right?
Dick Tracy: Why would we not?
Dick Tracy: I don't fault you for who your dad is. Why would I? You didn't have a choice in the matter. I worry you might grow tired of me because of my job and what I have to do.
Miss M: No. I understand. I just don't want this drama to get between us.
Dick Tracy: M, nothing could come between us. Through thick and thin, I'm planning to be right next to you.
Miss M: You promise?
Miss M: I love you too.
Dick Tracy: You want another sundae?
Miss M: Heavens no. I don't even think I can eat this cupcake. Maybe we can bring it back to your place? If you're free for the night that is.
Dick Tracy: That sounds like a plan. (lifts hand up) Check please!
The two chuckle.
Up Next! A Boo Bucket means business!
